She asked me, “Is it possible for a guy to still be interested in a girl, even after she’s made it clear to him that she’s not interested?”

My answer: “Absolutely YES!”

Her: “Crap.”

Here’s what girls need to understand. Guys don’t understand hints. Even if you’re blunt, guys will interpret what you say to mean what they think you meant or what they want you to mean.

Let’s say Guy tells Girl he likes her. Girl thinks Guy is great, but as a friend, so she tells him she’s not interested in him like that.

Girl continues to remain friends with him maintaining their friendship.

Guy’s thought process goes as follows:
She says she’s not interested, but that just means she’s not interested NOW. She’s still talking to me, so she must like me a little. Maybe she’s not sure what she wants. I’ll keep talking to her and keep my interest in her and show her that she really is interested in me, and just doesn’t know it.

Guys are dumb. I’m telling you this from my own personal experience. I have been the one that just could not take the obvious hint that the girl was not interested. I have seen other guys make the same dumb move.

So girls, what do you have to do?

Stop talking to them.

I know, that sounds rough, but the only way a guy will really understand what “Not interested” really means is if the girl completely shuts him down. If you keep talking, you are still interested.

Guys just don’t think with their brains. They think with their hormones.

“Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun.” – Ecclesiastes 2:11 (ESV)

What’s the point of what we do? What is our drive? Our reasoning? Our motivation?

Does it make you happy? Are you satisfied?

Solomon, the king of Israel, the person who was granted all wisdom by God, found all he did to be meaningless.

The work of his hands – meaningless.

The entertaining and pleasurable things – meaningless.

His own great and unsurpassed wisdom – meaningless.

We live, we work, we die, and all is forgotten.

Seems a bit melodramatic, but it’s a place we’ve all been at one time in our lives. The time when we look at ourselves, our lives, our future and ask:

“What’s the point?!”

And Solomon observes:

“There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment?“ - Ecclesiastes 2:24,25 (ESV)

It is God who has given us these things to do, and we take pleasure in the duty that God has given us.

Because of Him we take pleasure in what we do.

In Him, we find meaning for our lives.

The only place we could get it from was the local Acme supermarket, and even then only at a few select stores. We’d have friends come over and they would ask, beg, plead and bribe to have a glass of this stuff. That’s how good it was!

We would go through bottles of it so fast that my dad would have to buy a few of them and hide all but one, just so we didn’t finish it all too quickly.

Then we received some sad news.

Acme stopped carrying it. There wasn’t any announcement or anything. We just couldn’t find it in the coffee aisle anymore at the store. My brother and I were quite upset. We consoled each other through the rough patches and tried to find some alternatives, but nothing ever came about.

It’s been a few months and I was getting ready for a small party when I opened the cupboard and saw this:
Ice Java!

Apparently, my mom had cleaned out the pantry and found two bottles of Ice Java that my dad had hidden away and forgot about. They don’t expire until Feb/2010, but i doubt they’ll last that long.

YUMM! The last two bottles of Ice Java…

I still had to go to work even thought there are no classes since it’s Spring Break. Half of our department’s out and it’s pretty quiet.

    I got to work a little late, even with the two-hour delay. I thought the delay was so that facilities could clear the snow, but they were barely through when I got to campus.

    On the way to work I saw a few accidents. The first was a car turned completely the wrong way just at the start of Route 309. Another involved a few trucks pulled over. And immediately after that was a Tractor trailer that went over the side of I-276. I had my camera so i took pictures for you to see below.

I had plenty of free time. So many spontaneous random trips to Chicken N Rice, Mad Mex, Naked Chocolate, and more. Now I can’t do that so much since I work a 9-5. Those were some great times and I’m thankful for those memories.

    There was one particular day, last year, that was exceptionally fun. It was in the morning and Dany and Siby were picking me up from the airport. We decided we didn’t want to waste such a great day, so we called everyone we could think of for a trip to Mad Mex for some great wings. We got Liffy, Sarah and Vickie to join and we were on our way! We took a bunch of pictures, and even has some “spontaneous photoshoots”. I put it the pictures together into a short video and added some music.
